Flood Risk Management

Practices concerning the prior detection, analysis and reduction of flood risks, focusing on the following elements:
·        Prevention: prevent flood damage, e.g. by banning the construction of buildings in flood-prone areas.
·        Protection: take measures to reduce the likelihood of flooding or the impact of floods on a particular site, such as the restoration of floodplains and wetlands.
·        Readiness: informing the public about what to do in case of flooding.
